About María
María Fernández was born in a small town in Sevilla (Spain, 1982), in which she grow between pencils, charcoals and paintbrushes. As a child, she was an illustrator, but she did not know it yet. Since then, María has been investigating, learning and exploring new materials and styles which has led her to develop her current style. The main techniques that she uses are watercolour, graphite, ink, pencils and pastel, among others. In her work, the artist combines portraits with expressive glances and attitudes with organic and natural shapes, which help her to create a unique and personal result.
María Fernández nació en un pueblecito de Sevilla (España) en 1982, y creció entre pinceles, carboncillos y lápices. Siendo muy pequeña, ya era ilustradora, aunque aún no lo sabía. Desde entonces, no ha parado de investigar, aprender y explorar nuevos materiales y estilos que le han llevado a desarrollar la obra que hoy expone. Sus principales técnicas son la acuarela, el grafito, la tinta, lápices y pastel, principalmente. En su obra combina retratos de actitudes y miradas expresivas con formas orgánicas y naturales, obteniendo, de ésta forma, un resultado único y personal.
